If you love spring flowers ...follow these tips...
Read your manual regarding the Macro feature. This feature allows
you to get really close to small objects such as a tulip or daffodil.
Make sure to set your file size to the desired output.
So if you want photos just to send on the internet, use the smaller file size.
For enlargements, use the largest size your camera can handle.
Avoid
storing your camera in hot or cold areas.
Be careful of Magnetic items when using a digital camera. Don't place your
digital camera on a speaker or near any other magnetic items. This will possibly
damage images on your card.
Use disposable cameras at the ski slope or at the beach instead of using your
expensive camera. If you insist on using your camera. Make sure to store
in a plastic bag to avoid moisture, salt and sand.
After shooting outside, place your camera in a plastic bag before going
indoors. This will prevent your camera from fogging up.
If you are using a regular SLR, get a polarizer. This filter
will make colors deep and rich.
Great filter for skies too. Watch exposure when using this
filter.
Use your flash to add light to your subjects. We call this fill
light.
I hope these tips will help you with your photo projects. Good
Shooting....
- Keep your camera's lens clean. Use only lens tissue
to avoid scratching the lens. If you can use filters on your camera, get at
least a UV filter to protect your lens.
- Remove batteries from your camera if you will not be using
it for extended periods of time. Cold weather will kill your batteries
quickly, so have spares on hand.
- Always carry spare sets of batteries for camera and flash
unit.
- Point & shoot cameras have a limited flash range, so
stay within 10 -12 feet from your subjects.
- Use the new High Speed films such as 800 Max. Gives
you more range in different photo situations.
- Don't leave your loaded camera in a hot place such as car
glove box or trunk. Your film will be damaged.
- When taking pictures of small children, get down on the
floor at their level, while they are playing.
- Time of day is important when taking scenic photos.
Notice how the sun effects different areas and different times of the day.
Morning, mid day and afternoon one area can look completely different.
- Be careful not to cover your flash with your finger with
the point and shoot cameras. I see many people doing this at weddings ! Also
if you shoot a vertical picture, keep the
flash on the top of the camera, which will light your subjects better...
- Read your camera's owners manual, it will tell you exactly
what your camera is capable of doing for you.
