I want the parents to help me in preparing their child or children for their
portrait session. This is very important with children that are shy and afraid
of strangers. I want children to enjoy their experience of having their portrait
taken. If they are having a good time, the smiles will come naturally. I
work by appointment only for my sessions, so your child or children will receive
my total attention. I recommend early morning sessions for young toddlers.
Limited Saturdays are available for parents who work. I have not had good
results with children around dinnertime or later in the evenings. They are just
too tired from playing all day. The last thing they want to do is change clothes
& smile. Of course some children are on different time schedules so maybe
your child would be better later in the day. Mom knows best.
I have lots of toys, props to make that special portrait, but please don't
hesitate to bring your child's special toy or chair or any other props you would
like to use.
Infants are another challenge...Best time to start photographing infants is 3 months. This gives your child time to develop to the point of getting some smiles and they can look at a specific area. Usually at that age they sleep a lot, cause they are growing so rapidly. I have a little wicker basket an infant at this age would look adorable in. My little baby bath tub works great too for little infants as well as toddlers. Bring special blankets, and mom should consider having portraits done as well with their new baby. Mom's can bring a nice bath robe and have a nice "Madonna Session" You will treasure these portraits when you see them! Madonna sessions are private so if you are interested give me a call for more information.
